The Circuit

In March 2009, the Centro Studi Dante Bighi in Copparo, the Casa Museo Remo Brindisi in Comacchio and the Fondazione Torri dell’Acqua of Budrio jointly founded a circuit giving it the name of “Centres for Contemporary Production”.

These three centres aim to stimulate and develop a dialogue between the traditional and the modern, to compare the idioms of the past and those of the “here and now”, and to favour a productive, creative interpretation of the Contemporary.

The circuit intends to overcome geographical boundaries and administrative and political limits, replacing these with a sense of territorial cohesion that goes beyond the single entity and favours the collective whole.

Within their spaces, the encounters between people, the development of ideas and the execution of projects at different creative levels replace the notion of the “cultural institute” of the type consisting of artistic directors and cultural institute staff.

Through this project, fruit of a cross section of experiences, the circuit seeks the development of a territory, of a community, through cultural growth, in a kind of “contemporary mannerism” that rejects static art to be observed, in favour of dynamic artefacts to be made or used.

Operating across the scientific, educational, training and cultural sectors, the Centres for Contemporary Production constitute a veritable meeting place where experiences originating in the business world facilitate the development of authentically cultural projects in turn capable of establishing a cultural economy.
